Writing for print
and digital media

About me

My name is Amy and I love words. I think the feeling's mutual. We've had our highs and lows (who doesn't?), but there's no denying we make a great team. Our relationship has given me a leg-up to become an experienced published author, editor and writer, creating quality copy for print and digital media. With excellent people skills and confidence working under pressure and to tight deadlines, my work includes commercial fiction novels; features and content for national magazines, websites and newspapers; and marketing copy for household brands.

Recent projects that I've enjoyed working on include editing various magazines, writing digital content and working on a PR project for a non-governmental organisation. Here's a handful of examples.

For BH Publications, I was delighted to edit the luxurious Skibo magazine. From flatplanning and writing features, to editing contributors' copy and proof-reading, the annual magazine was succesfully completed to deadline.

An exclusive lifestyle magazine, published by BH Publications, I edited an edition of New Forest Exclusive. I interviewed fascinating people, researched and wrote features for the magazine, edited copy and held responsibility as Editor.

A brilliant adventure, having the freedom to create and edit a gardening magazine, as part of the Your Perfect series. Published by Uncooked Media, I commissioned expert gardening writers to produce features for a commercial magazine. It was sold in WHSmiths and Waitrose.

I contributed various features, including real-life interviews with brides, edited copy and proofread the magazine, published by IGP Media and We Are 778

I regularly write content for Further Afield, a luxury travel website specialising in gay-friendly accommodation all over the world. From editing property reviews and destination content, to creating e-newsletters, the website has been commended by the national press.

I'm chuffed to be working on a PR project to create press releases, put together a press database and contact key media to help gain press coverage for the WWF's Green Ambassador Awards campaign.

I previously edited the Pick Me Up website, published by IPC Media, uploading content and images using the CMS, ensuring the content was search engine optimized using keywords and meta tags.

The following titles are some of the national publications and organisations I've freelanced for. For some of these titles I've previously been employed as a Senior Writer, Deputy Editor, Online Editor or Section Editor. For the NGOs, I worked in the Press team.

My novels, published by Pan Macmillan are available in all good bookshops or Amazon and have been translated into several different languages. My first novel, A Girls' Guide To Homemaking was a number one bestseller in Italy and winner of the Baccante Prize for fiction. Marie Claire says: 'A heartwarming tale of female friendship, pregnancy and dodgy boyfriends' and Italian Vanity Fair says: 'A magic formula'.
